1 December at 7 p.m.
On the first day of winter, we invite you to kick off the Christmas holidays and get inspired by new ideas at the presentation of the book ‘The Way, the Truth and the Life’.
On 1 December at 7 p.m., The Warehouse by IT Quarter will host a meeting dedicated to the release of the unique publication ‘The Way, the Truth and the Life’.
The author of the book, Lyudmila Koleshnina, is an architect and embroidery artist from Latvia.
The book belongs to the category of scientific literature and reveals the rich world of the Byzantine sign system on banners (church flags) embroidered using the ancient technique of gold embroidery. The book explores the profound theme of sacred symbols and the protective meaning of images of the Cross and Eucharistic attributes.
Guests will enjoy a warm and meaningful conversation with the sisters of the skete of St. John of Monagritsky, which was severely damaged by fire this summer. This meeting is an opportunity to support the sisters, hear their vivid stories and contribute to the restoration of the shrine.
The evening's programme includes:
A conversation with the sisters and the book's publishers.
Participation of special guests.
Classical music:
— Tatiana Stupak (piano)
— Olivia Rialas (violin)
The programme will be hosted by Marianna Rosset
Refreshments: fresh monastery pastries and Commandaria from the Menargos winery (Monagri).
All proceeds from the sale of books will go towards the restoration of the skete.
Come and support the sisters, experience the world of monastic life, and spend an evening in an atmosphere of light, warmth, and unity.
This is not just a presentation—it is a gathering where words, music, and goodwill create a special pre-holiday atmosphere.
The book is published in three languages — English, Greek and Russian — and will make a wonderful gift for Christmas gatherings and winter holidays.
