Two Romas visiting Rainbow: Friendship without borders

Thank you to the "Angel of Faith" charitable foundation for helping us fulfil dreams

Two families who dreamed of peace amidst endless rehabilitations, surgeries and classes went to the sea. For them, it's not just a holiday - it's the fulfilment of a dream. A dream to touch the waves, one to touch them, the other to see their endless blue. To experience the sea as it is available to each of them: one through the taste and smell of the salty wind, the other through the sight of the majestic water where you can't see the horizon.

For ten days they left behind schedules, strict routines and endless worries. These days are a gift to them! An opportunity to plunge into life, to forget about time and enjoy every moment that fills their hearts with warm, joyful light. The sea breeze gently flutters their hair, and tears of happiness glisten in their eyes - tears that at last the dream has come true and a miracle has come into their lives.

Two boys came to Rainbow at the same time, and both have the same name - Roma. One cannot walk and the other cannot see. But this in no way prevents them from being friends and spending time together, finding support and understanding in each other.

Roma, who cannot see but can walk, always tries to help his friend: he takes the pram and rolls it as if it were the most natural thing in the world. And Roma, who can't walk but can see, easily gives his friend food or objects, complementing him and helping him in those moments where his sight gives him an advantage. Their tandem is unusual and surprising - two boys whose seeming disability each turns into a powerful force when they are together.

The world one sees is not understandable to another. How is it possible not to see the sun, not to recognise colours? But the one who cannot see cannot understand how it is not to run on the ground, not to feel the strength of one's legs. They didn't ask themselves these questions too often. Life itself suggested solutions.

In order not to confuse them, when they were called, one was named Petrovich and the other Valerievich.

And let these families saw the sea for the first time, but we want to believe that new, the same warm moments are waiting for them ahead, which will only increase, opening new horizons of happiness and peace.

Thank you to friends and sponsors of the Rainbow foundation!
