At the age of 7, Maxim was initially diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma. After the necessary course of chemotherapy, an operation was performed to remove the area affected by the tumor and an endoprosthesis was installed. But, unfortunately, the prosthesis did not take root. Back then Maxim spent most of his time in hospitals. And at the end of May 2020, the doctors said that it would not be possible to save the leg and the amputation of the right leg above the knee was performed. Fortunately, after the operation, the family found out about the Life in Motion Foundation. And after 1.5 months, Maxim was walking on the first prosthesis made at the prosthetics center "I want to walk!". Now Maxim can go to school every day without crutches!
Maxim also plays wheelchair basketball, studies at school and attends classes at the quantorium. In June 2022 representatives and friends of "I want to walk" foundation ran the "White Nights" marathon in support of for Maxim's dream of a special athletic prosthesis. And our Raduga Foundation, in turn, also participated in fundraising for Maxim organizing the Life in Motion marathon. Maxim dreams of visiting the sea and meeting all the volunteers from Raduga who helped him in person.
