Hello, dear team of the "Rainbow in Cyprus" charitable foundation. This is Irina Loseva, the mother of Egor Losev, a smiling 21-year-old boy with severe cerebral palsy. Thank you for the opportunity to turn to you for help.
Egor was born with a birth trauma to his neck and severe oxygen deprivation by doctors' mistake. In the first year of his life alone, we were hospitalised seven times. Then came many years of hard work, which is hard for an ordinary person to imagine. Intensive daily exercises, sanatoriums, rehabilitation centres, masseurs, speech therapists, osteopaths, acupuncturists. Only 2 times there were tangible results: at the age of three Egor started to roll over, and at the age of five - to crawl independently, lying on his stomach. To date, this is all that Egor can do independently.
Despite this restriction in movement, Egor was always very active, energetic, could never be without action and movement. Everything that was available to him, he tried for independent movement. In his childhood it was a toy iron car, then a specialised bicycle, then an electric wheelchair appeared in his life. Having learnt it very quickly, Egor felt his independence and started to think about how he could help us. 16 years ago we moved from the city to the village. It was the only financially possible option for our family to move from the tenth floor (lift to the ninth) of a multi-storey building to a one-storey house on land. Egor graduated from the centre for distance learning for children with disabilities in our Altai region on a regular general education programme on good and excellent. Egor's intelligence is excellent. For the fifth year he has been actively playing the Paralympic game of boccia (playing with his head with the help of a chute and an assistant). He plays for the Altai region and strives to achieve a good, beautiful game. He is a master of sports of Russia. Winner and prize-winner of many All-Russian competitions.
Egor's dream is to go to the sea, to live in a warm climate.
He is always very cold, he has strong spasticity and hyperkinesis, and warmth, warm water relaxes him very well, he feels relief in his body.In our region we have long winters and short summers.A holiday at the sea will be such a joy for Egor and, of course, will support his health.For Egor this trip is new friends and the sea, for me Egor's happiness and health.
In the near future the Ministry of Sport of Russia is to pay a prize for the competition in 2023 in the amount of 155 thousand rubles.This will be our contribution to Egor's dream.
