Hello!
My name is Svetlana, I am Daniil's mum. He is my special child. Daniil had hypoxia and because of that he is behind in development. Now he is 10 years old. He doesn't speak yet, but he's already making some sounds.
Once he didn't even walk, but thanks to hard work with a physiotherapist and constant work at home, Daniil took his first steps and walked. Now my main task is to develop his speech and teach him to be as independent in life as possible. We do a lot of work: we visit a speech therapist, a physiotherapist, Montessori classes, a swimming pool and, of course, we study at home. I believe in a miracle - that one day I will hear my son say the word ‘mum’ to me and speak. We already have the first sounds: ‘yes’, ‘no’, “eh”, ‘aaa’, and I believe that he will definitely be able to speak. From time to time I have dreams of him solving maths problems or talking to me. My whole life is built around putting as much into him as I can. And, albeit slowly, our efforts are yielding positive results.
Of course, we still have a lot to learn, but I believe we will succeed. Since I am fully devoted to my son, I cannot afford to do too much, as the lessons are expensive and have to be paid for regularly.
The trip with Rainbow to Cyprus was like a fairy tale for us. I have never been anywhere in my life, except for the countries bordering Latvia. I don't know if we will ever be able to afford such a holiday, because our priority is always development and activities that Daniil needs.
I have read that sea, sun and sand are very useful for such special children. The warm climate really heals in some way. I believe that this trip will have a favourable effect on my son's health and will give him a new impetus in his development.
And for me it will be a small holiday and a real reset after 10 years of daily work with my son.
With respect and hope,
Svetlana
