My name is Julia, I am from a small town in Pridnestrovie. I got married for great love, I was waiting for my son with impatience, making plans, dreaming. The pregnancy went well. I was young and beautiful, I was flying on wings, my husband was fluffing me. But the meeting with my son took place earlier than expected. At 29 weeks there were heavy labour. The doctors fought for my son's life for a long time. It was his first victory, but we could not even imagine what was ahead of us. I named my son Bogdan because he was given to me by God... The first year passed like in a fog: tears, surgeries, drips, hospitals. Each new diagnosis was a blow to our young family. My husband couldn't cope and left us, and I had no choice, my son's eyes were on me. I quickly grew up and became not just a mum, but a doctor, a teacher, a nanny.
I learned how to give injections, massage and physical therapy. I gave up the wheelchair so that my son could rely on himself and my shoulder was always there. I became strong not only morally but also physically.
Bogdan endured 8 surgeries in 9 years. I dedicated my life to my son. I know that my son's diagnosis is not a verdict. Bogdan has cerebral spinal cord, double hemiplegia with pronounced impairment of standing and walking. Bogdan is home-schooled in a comprehensive school. He delights me with his successes. Teachers praise him, and I am proud and cry. Bogdan is a very kind and sociable boy. He loves music, and especially reading rap, he is good at it. Bogdan turned 18 a month ago, and I just realised that except for hospital walls he has seen nothing. My son's world is me, and he is my world and my life.
I believe in a miracle, I believe that the azure coast will give my son the strength to fight further....
