My name is Yana, and we’re from the town of Razdan. A mutual friend of ours, Marina, told us about your foundation. We met Marina at the ‘Centre for Family and Child Development’ run by the ‘Charity Centre’ NGO, where she is the director. My son is one of the children in her care. She always helps our children – children who are denied many of life’s joys.

I have two children. I have been raising them on my own for about 15 years. My son is 22 years old; he has cerebral palsy and tetraparesis on his left side. From a very young age, I have always tried to do everything in my power for him, without success: he cannot walk, speak or look after himself. Whenever she can, my daughter helps her brother. She is 15 and is training to be a nurse so that she can look after him in the future.

Alen is very calm by nature; he loves listening to music and is always delighted when we take him out somewhere, although we rarely manage to do so as I work. At the moment, my dad looks after him; he’ll soon be turning 80. My son really enjoys socialising and loves going for car rides.

We hadn’t applied to any charities before, and we’d never managed to take the children anywhere. I stopped believing in miracles a long time ago, but today our Marina called and told us about the foundation.

As we have never left Armenia, we would very much like to have a change of environment, even if only for a short while, and do something nice for the children to make them happy.
