Hello, dear employees of the Rainbow in Cyprus charity foundation!

My name is Olga, and I have a wonderful daughter, Anastasia, with delicate features and beautiful eyes. We live in the town of Rybnitsa, where the environment leaves much to be desired.

After Nastya was born, our lives changed dramatically. She was born weak, the birth was difficult, and later we were diagnosed with cerebral palsy with accompanying tetraparesis, spastic hemiplegia (more pronounced on the right side), and optic nerve atrophy. These difficulties prevent her from leading a full life, but Nastya does not give up and fights for her health and socialisation. Despite all the difficulties, she achieves small but important successes.

Nastya began to hold her head up at 1 year old, has been using a walker since 2 years old, and can stand with support. Unfortunately, she cannot sit independently, but she amazes everyone with her perfect pitch — she sings, uses YouTube and musical educational aids, which she finds very exciting. From the age of 2 to 14, Nastya attended a special needs nursery and took part in musical events, delighting everyone with her performances — to the best of her ability.

I am raising Nastya on my own — her father left when he found out about her condition. I devote all my time to her development and treatment, while also taking care of our family and work. Financial difficulties prevent us from travelling, but Nastya dreams of the sea: she loves the sun, adores swimming and feeling the water, which brings her joy and peace. She dreams of one day leaving her cosy bathroom to swim in the warm sea.

Nastya is a very emotional child, and new experiences are a huge stimulus for her development. This is especially important now, because for a child with cerebral palsy, mastering new stages of life is a real struggle, and her belief in success is inspiring.

I really hope that our story will not go unnoticed and that kind people will help Nastya fulfil her dream of visiting beautiful Cyprus and feeling the warmth of the sun and sea.
